DESCRIPTION

Selectively inhibits reuptake of serotonin, increases its concentration in synaptic cleft and causes the antidepressant effect. Has low-affinity for muscarinic cholinergic receptor, to alpha-1, alpha-2, beta-adrenergic receptor, including 5-HT1 similar, 5-HT2 similar and the histamine (H1) receptor. Paxil does not influence psychomotor functions and does not potentiate depressant action of ethanol. Treating achieves significant reduction of worry, depression and sleep disturbances.

PACKAGING & DOSAGE

Active substance: paroxetine hydrochloride hemihydrate 22mg equivalent to paroxetine 20mg. Excipients: calcium dihydrogenphosphate dihydrate, Sodium Carboxymethyl type A, magnesium stearate.

The recommended initial dose of Paxil is 20mg per day (in the morning).

If there is little or no response,&daggerthe&daggerdose should gradually be increased, in 20mg/day increments up to a maximum of 60mg/day at intervals of at least 1 week. For elderly, physically exhausted people or people with liver or kidney impairments the initial dose is 10mg/day, the maximum is 40mg/day.

Store in dry place at room temperature. Do not exceed storage temperature higher than 30 degrees Celcius. Keep away from direct sunlight. Keep locked and away from children.
