Ozempic is a self-injectable medication that contains the active ingredient, semaglutide. Previously, it has been prescribed ‘off label’ for weight loss, but it is licensed in the UK for treating type 2 diabetes. Semaglutide is available as a weight loss injection under the brand name Semavik.
