DIUVER (Torasemid Demadex, Examid) is a loop diuretic that is used to treat high blood pressure and edema (fluid retention, excess fluid in body tissues) caused by heart, kidney, or liver diseases. Diuver works by stimulating the kidney to eliminate larger amount electrolytes (especially sodium and potassium salts), thus reducing extra fluid in the body. Diuver belongs to a class of drugs known as diuretics. The active substance of Diuver is Torasemide that binds to the transport molecule of sodium, chlorine  potassium ions in the thick ascending loop of Henle, which results in blocking active sodium and chloride reabsorption and, as a result, lowering osmotic pressure in the intracellular fluid. Torasemide has a hemodynamic effect in patients with hypertension, it lowers systolic and diastolic blood pressure in patients with acute heart failure or chronic renal failure.
