DESCRIPTION

Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin that is involved in the metabolism of every cell of the human body: it is a cofactor in DNA synthesis, and in both fatty acid and amino acid metabolism.nIt is particularly important in the normal functioning of the nervous system via its role in the synthesis of myelin and in the maturation of developing red blood cells in the bone marrow.

PACKAGING

CYANOCOBALAMIN comes in the form of vials for injection. 10 vials per pack.

Active ingredient: cyanocobalamin - 0.5mg.

Excipients: sodium chloride - 9 mg water for injection - 1 ml.

DOSAGE

The drug is used subcutaneously, intramuscularly, intravenously and intra-lumbar.

Deficiency of vitamin B12 - 1mg per day for 1&ndash2 weeks.

Anemia - 0.2 mg per day every other day.

Funicular myelosis, macrocytic anemia with impaired function of the nervous system - 0.5 mg per day for the first week daily, then with intervals between injections up to 5-7 days (at the same time folic acid is prescribed).

Treatment of central nervous system and peripheral nervous system - 500 mg per day for 2 weeks.

Treatment of peripheral nervous system of traumatic genesis - 250-500 mcg every other day for 40-45 days.

Hepatitis and cirrhosis of the liver - 0.05mg per day or 0.1mg every other day for 25-40 days.

Radiation sickness - 0.1mg per day for 20-30 days.

Young children with nutritional anemia and premature babies - subcutaneously 0.03mg per day for 15 days.

Dystrophies in young children, Downs disease and cerebral palsy - subcutaneously, 0.03mg per day for 15 days.

PRECAUTIONS

A deficiency of cyanocobalamin must be confirmed diagnostically before taking Cyanocobalamin since it can mask the lack of folic acid. During the period of treatment, it is necessary to monitor the indicators of peripheral blood: on 5-8 days of treatment, the content of reticulocytes, the concentration of iron is analysed. The number of red blood cells, hemoglobin and color index must be monitored for 1 month. 1-2 times a week, and then 2-4 times a month. Remission is achieved by increasing the number of erythrocytes to 4-4.5 million / &mul, when the normal size of erythrocytes is reached and the reticulocyte content normalizes after the reticulocyte crisis. After hematologic remission is achieved, peripheral blood is monitored at least once every 4&ndash6 months. Use caution in individuals prone to thrombosis, with angina (in smaller doses up to 100 mcg per injection).

SIDE EFFECTS AND PRECAUTIONS

Adverse effect of the drug on the ability to drive vehicles and the occupation of other activities requiring concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions were not reported. However, given that the drug may cause dizziness, caution should be exercised in the implementation of these activities.
