Candid B 15g cream

Structure and Composition: 

Cream for external use. 100 mg contains:

clotrimazole 1 mg

beclomethasone dipropionate 25 mcg

Other ingredients: benzyl alcohol, propylene glycol, petrolatum (white petrolatum), liquid paraffin (paraffin oil) cetomacrogol methyl parahydroxybenzoate Propyl butylhydroxytoluene sodium dihydrogen phosphate anhydrous sodium Purified water

in tubes of aluminum and 15 g in the paper cartons 1 tube.

Description pharmaceutical form:

White homogeneous cream.

Description of the pharmacological actions:

Clotrimazole – imidazole derivative, a broad antifungal spectrum. The effect of the drug is associated with impaired synthesis of ergosterol, a component of fungal cell membranes, causing changes in its structure and properties leads to cell lysis. By clotrimazole sensitive dermatophytes, yeasts (the genus Candida, Torulopsis glabrata, Rhodotorula), molds, as well as the causative agent of Pityriasis versicolor (pityriasis versicolor) and pathogen erythrasma.

Furthermore, it is providing antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive (staphylococci, and streptococci) and Gram-negative bacteria (Bacteroides, Gardnerella vaginalis), as well as against Trichomonas vaginalis.

Beclomethasone dipropionate has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, antiekssudativnoe and antipruritic effect. When applied topically beclomethasone dipropionate suppresses inflammatory and allergic skin reactions as well as reactions associated with enhanced proliferation, which leads to a decrease in objective symptoms (erythema, edema, lichenification) and subjective sensations (itching, irritation, pain).

Indications:

• Fungal infections of the skin, especially accompanied by acute eczematous manifestations:
• jock itch, athlete’s foot
• mikrosporiya smooth skin
• candidiasis caused by Candida albicans.

Contraindications:

• hypersensitivity
• lupus
• post-vaccination skin reactions
• herpes simplex
• cutaneous manifestations of syphilis
• actinomycosis, blastomycosis, sporotrichosis
• sores on the background of chronic venous insufficiency
• skin tumors
• during breastfeeding.

Application of pregnancy and breastfeeding:

External application of creams Candida B in pregnant women is allowed in cases where the expected benefit to the mother outweighs risk to the fetus. In such cases, use of the drug should be short-lived and limited to small areas of the skin.

It is not known whether the drug gets into the mother’s milk, so breast-feeding during the use of the drug Candide B is only possible under strict indications, and the drug can not be applied to the skin of the breast before feeding.

Side effect:

Side effects tend to be bland character. Possible local allergic reaction – redness, burning sensation and tingling at the site of application of the drug.

Occasionally, as in the application of other glucocorticosteroids may develop aknepodobnye changes, hypopigmentation, stretch marks, skin atrophy, hypertrichosis, telangiectasia, secondary skin infections.

Drug Interactions:

Dosage and administration:

Externally, on the pre-washed and dried affected skin lightly rubbing, causing a thin layer of 2-3 times a day.

When athlete’s groin, microsporia smooth skin and candidiasis treatment – 2 weeks with athlete’s foot – 4 weeks. If necessary, long-term use should be used less often – every other day. Overdose:

Symptoms: prolonged use of beclomethasone over large areas of skin with impaired integrity or using occlusive dressings, as well as long-term use in children, the possibility of side effects associated with the suppression and insufficiency of adrenocortical function.

Treatment: removal of the drug and, if necessary – symptomatic therapy.

Special instructions:

If the first application of Candid B cream develops hypersensitivity reaction to the skin (itching, burning, or redness), you should immediately stop using the product and seek medical advice.

It should be possible to avoid the long-term treatment, especially in children, due to possible adrenal suppression.

Drawing on an extensive surface, or the use of occlusive dressings may lead to systemic absorption of beclomethasone.

Avoid getting the drug into the eyes can not be applied to the skin around the eyes and mucous membranes.

The development and spread of infection requires withdrawal of the drug and the appointment of antimicrobial therapy.

Bacterial infection is maintained in warm moist conditions, including occlusive dressings, so the skin should be cleaned before applying the cream.
